It Takes an Ohana It Takes an Ohana Hawaii's Foster & Adoption Resource

It Takes An `Ohana Joins Family Programs Hawai`i

Welcome

On September 1, 2010 It Takes An `Ohana (ITAO) became a part of Family Programs Hawaii’s (FPH) array of programs.  The alignment of FPH’s mission, to strengthen youth and families in the child welfare system, and ITAO’s mission, to offer resources and information to those in the community concerned with protecting the interests of children and youth in out-of-home care while providing responsible advocacy, will allow ITAO to renew our concentration on our core mission with greater support and resources.

“We are eager to support Hawaii’s foster children by advocating on behalf of the families that provide foster care by giving them a stronger voice in the community and more resources and support as they protect the interest of children and youth in their care,” claims Linda Santos, President and CEO of Family Programs Hawai`i.  Santos expresses confidence that It Takes An `Ohana will continue to thrive in its new home and will benefit from the sharing of resources, facilities and ideas.

ITAO believes this transition will be advantageous and beneficial to all and is profoundly grateful for the support of our constituents, donors, both organizations’ board of directors and FPH staff who have helped us reach this new and exciting chapter in our proud histories.
