2014 Hot Topic Conference: We’re All in This Together: Practical Tools for Building Effective Partnerships with Families

The focus of this workshop was on tools and techniques for establishing partnership-based strategies with families, communities and colleagues. Attendees were given practical tools to use in developing a thorough understanding of each family they work with.  The opportunity to problem solve system barriers to find creative solutions was also presented.

The featured speaker was Patricia Miles, a consultant from Portland, Oregon.  Patricia has been involved in system improvement efforts for more than 20 years. She has consulted on system design and practice improvement efforts in Child Welfare, Education, Children’s Mental Health and Juvenile Justice settings as well as Older Adult programs. Committed to assisting & supporting those who get to provide direct care to families, Pat has authored several articles on service improvement as well as multiple curricula designed to increase skills of direct service personnel. She has conducted training about Wraparound and other practice models in more than 25 states, including Hawaii. Pat can be reached at patmiles@patmiles.com
