how to add amazon link

You’re right, there are too many books. I did the first page of them, but it’s crazy to bill you for all of them.

Here’s instructions.

Each post has to be handled separately to get them to format properly. If you click on one of the books from the second page of books, you’ll see that our old theme doesn’t like the new Amazon formatting. No problem, we can do it with a short code, which has been nicely modified by the developer, for which i am paying him a tiny fee.

1. Open the post page of the book. I do it from the site — once you’ll logged to edit, you can look at the site and click on “edit post” at the very top of the window.

You can also go to the All Posts page and then filter by “Books.”

2.In the content area of the post, before your text, paste this code:

AWS.InvalidParameterValue: XXXXXXXXX is not a valid value for ItemId. Please change this value and retry your request.

You’ll now replace the XXXXXXXXXX.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the post and grab the ASIN number

If you don’t see it you may need to change your screen options by going up here and clicking on screen options…

… then click the plugin to make it appear on your edit screen.

4. Now that you have copied the ASIN number, go back to the top of the content and paste it into our code between the ”  ” where the XXXXXXXX were.

5. Finally, you need to unclick the box that says “if checked the product will be live” in the plug in section. Seems weird to do that, but we are turning on the plug in with the shortcode we pasted in above.

6. Now test the post by clicking on the View Post button. If ok, then move on to the next. If along the way you find any extra code left from an earlier attempt to do this, just erase it.

ITAO Book Club Starts New “Live” Meetings

ITAO is trying something new with the Book Club this year by changing from an on-line forum to meeting in person! We will talk about our current book using questions from the DHS Alternative Verification Form, making it easy to fill in the DHS form to receive the 5.25 DHS training credit hours for the book plus a certificate for an additional training credit hour, thus fulfilling the annual training credit hours with the DHS. The date for our first meeting is April 13, 2016. Neighbor Islanders can join us via the internet. Follow link for more info.

ITAO Book Club

ITAO is happy to announce the launch of a statewide, virtual Book Club for Hawaii’s resource, adoptive, guardianship, permanency and kinship families. It will provide support to families and at the same time add to their expertise related to the needs of the children and youth in their home. The first book we are reading allows resource caregivers who read the book and complete the DHS Training Verification form to receive training 5 hour credits. Follow link for more information.

Buy On Amazon — Benefit ITAO

We’ve assembled a list of some of the best books ever written about parenting, foster care and adoption and given you a link to purchase them online by clicking through from this website. When you do, ITAO receives a portion of the proceeds from that sale and from everything else you purchase on Amazon in that session, from books to computers! It’s a great way to support our work with foster and adoptive families.
