2017 Annual Child Welfare Law Update Conference
The 2017 Annual Child Welfare Law Update Conference was held August 25th at the Ko’olau Golf Course in Kaneohe. The Honorable Catherine Remigio, Senior Judge of Family Court of the First Circuit and Pankaj Bhanot, Director of the Hawaii Department of Human Services, welcomed the more than 250 child welfare professionals.
NOTE: 4.75 CLE and 1 Ethics Credit are available to licensed attorneys who attend the entire program. 6 continuing education credit hours are also available for NASW social workers.

“A Day in the Life” presented by the Good Capp Art Ensemble
The play is part of a campaign to bring greater awareness, understanding, and advocacy for young people exploited in human sex trafficking.
“A Day in the Life” has toured cities throughout the US and brings a human face to the commercial sexual exploitation of young people. The powerful and riveting production served as the spring board for today’s workshop’s agenda that included a presentation by survivors of sex trafficking in Hawaii, a panel discussion on the societal and legal issues, and advocacy and resources available to assist victims of sex trafficking.
